In the mid 80’s, while he was studying Mathematics, Lionel worked as well as a graphist and designer. At the age of 20, he started working on movie sets as a technician, an assistant director, as a grip or even as a producer.
Before Lionel turned 30, he was also involved in a Theater company that he had created with a bunch of passionate friends: that is where he learnt to write for actors, to direct them, and where he discovered another kind of sets...
Naturally, right after this period, gathering his experience on movie sets and his passion for writing and actors, he directed his first short film « Mobyl ». Between 1994 and 2008, Lionel wrote 6 short films, 2 of them (« Infrarouge » and « Une vie d’ici la? ») were selected and rewarded in many international festivals (Clermont Ferrand, Italy, Brussels...)
He got into Advertising business in 1994, directing his first commercials for Citroen and Kronembourg. For 15 years, he’s been directing some of the most impressive films for Citroen (Chandelier or Snow films), Airness, Nestle?, Peugeot, Nescafe?,etc....
International and worldwide brands appreciate his visual and artistic skills and demands, which always bring amazing films, each time upgrading the initial project. He right away understands the possibilities and the realities of projects. He is argumentative, meticulous and involved, as many qualities that make him considered as one of the most promising and prominent French director, right now.
Besides his commercials, short films, adaptation for cinema or TV films, he is actually preparing his own first feature film, expected to be an international High standard movie!
And, last but not the least, the people he worked with, greeted his Genius and his unforgettable French accent!
